How to Fisch Fisch controls
Cast, shake, and reel on every device, plus the hotbar that actually matters.
Fisch fishing is a three-step loop: cast, shake, reel. How to Fisch is the Roblox game by Fisching (online multiplayer, C$ economy, launched 5 October 2024), not the Steam title How to Fish. Binds below are the defaults. Confirm them in Roblox if a controller profile stole the keyboard. Then open the fishing guide for pool choice and the Players Hub for lock settings.
PC binds
| Action | Bind |
|---|---|
| Cast / shake / minigame reel | Mouse 1 (left click) |
| Camera / lock onto the fish | Mouse 2 (right click) |
| Inventory | Backtick key |
| Shift Lock | Shift |
| Interact (NPCs, Shipwright, sell, GPS) | E |
| Rod | 1 |
| Equipment Bag (bait and rods) | 2 |
| Bestiary | 3 |
| Move | WASD |
| Jump | Space |
Cast: hold Mouse 1 to fill the power meter, release to throw. A centered release is a longer, cleaner cast. Shake: after the bobber lands, click Mouse 1 (or the on-screen Shake prompt) to cut lure time. High lure rods still shake; they just need fewer clicks. Reel: when the bar appears, hold Mouse 1 to drive the white slider right, release to let it fall left. Keep the fish icon inside the slider so progress fills. Drop to zero and the fish leaves.
Mouse 2 is the camera lock. Use it when the fish is small on a busy HUD or when you need the bar without fighting first-person drift. Shift Lock steadies the character so you are not strafing off the dock mid-reel.
Hotbar 1 / 2 / 3 is the real loadout. 1 draws the rod. 2 opens Equipment Bag — bait is equipped here, not in the backpack. 3 opens Bestiary so you can check preferred bait without leaving the island. Inventory backtick is for favoriting fish, moving GPS, and checking C$.
Interact with E for Pierre, merchants, Crew Herald, Shipwright, Daily Shop, and the GPS chair. If E does nothing, you are not close enough or a menu is already open. Close inventory and try again.
Mobile
Mobile uses the same three-step loop with touch.
- Cast: hold a tap on the screen (not only the button) to charge, release to throw.
- Shake: tap the Shake prompt (or the screen, depending on UI scale) until the bite.
- Reel: hold to push the slider right, release to drop left. Same physics as Mouse 1.
- Move: virtual joystick. Jump is the on-screen button.
- Interact: tap the prompt on NPCs.
- Equipment: tap slot 2 for the bag, then Equip on bait.
- Favorite / lock: double-tap an item to star it so sell-all skips it.
Thumb over the reel is the usual fail. Plant the character, then use one thumb for hold/release. If the bar feels tiny, that is Control on the rod, not a missing bind. Carbon and Steady are easier teaching sticks than Lucky. See rods ranked.
Console
Controller defaults follow Roblox fishing:
- Cast: RT (R2 on PlayStation) — hold to charge, release to throw.
- Shake: face button / on-screen Shake (A / Cross or the prompt your UI shows).
- Reel: hold a face button (or RT, if that is how your profile mapped reel) to drive right, release to drop left. If both RT and a face button affect the bar, pick one and stay with it for the fight.
- Look: right stick. Move: left stick.
- Interact: X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation (Roblox interact).
- Menus: use the highlighted slots for rod (1), Equipment (2), Bestiary (3) the same way PC does.
Console players should favorite keepers on PC or mobile when they can; console favorite support has lagged in places. Until it is reliable, do not sell-all. Sell singles. Settings still let you keep Limited and Exotic auto-sell off — use that. Details on the Players Hub.
Minigame feel
The reel is not mash. It is a sliding window.
- Control widens the white slider. Low Control is a thin sliver. That is why Training exists as a practice stick and why Tryhard-class rods feel cruel.
- Resilience slows how hard the fish yanks. Seaweed bait is a mild version of this; Steady is the early rod version.
- Progress Speed fills the success bar faster while you are in the window. Perfect catch (never leaving the window) pays extra C$ and XP.
- The fight locks inputs for a short beat at the start. Do not slam click during that lock or you will overshoot when control returns.
- Fish rarity changes audio and motion. Legendary and up dart more. That is catch difficulty on the Tier List Hub, not a broken mouse.
Shake is optional but free speed. Skip it only when you are AFK-adjacent and already at high lure. For a money hour, shake every cast.
Loadout before you walk to water
- 1 for the rod you mean to use (Carbon before C-tier skips).
- 2 for bait — Worms default, Weird Algae or Truffle Worm when the bait list says so.
- Backtick, favorite relics and Limited/Exotic, confirm locks.
- E on GPS if you still need coordinates. The tools checklist has the Moosewood chair.
- Cast with a charged Mouse 1 / hold tap / RT. Shake. Reel in the window.
If you fail the same fish three times, change rod or bait, not the bind. Rod progression and the money guide assume you can hold a bar. Codes do not fix a mashed reel. Updates rarely remap Mouse 1; they remap stats.
Practice on Moosewood commons until perfect catches feel boring. Then take the same binds to Carrot Garden and The Depths. The water changes. The fingers should not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, rods, and Saturday patches.
What button casts and reels on PC?
Mouse 1 does cast (hold/release), shake clicks, and reel (hold right, release left). Mouse 2 locks the camera on the fish.
How do I open bait and the rod on the hotbar?
1 is the rod, 2 is the Equipment Bag where you equip bait, 3 is the Bestiary. Inventory is the backtick key. Interact is E.
How does mobile fishing work?
Hold tap to charge the cast, tap to shake, then hold to reel right and release to drop left. Double-tap items to favorite them before selling.
What does console use to cast?
RT (R2) to charge and throw. Face buttons handle shake and reel hold/release. Keep Limited and Exotic auto-sell off if favorite is awkward on pad.
