How to Fisch Getting Started in Fisch
Moosewood to Magma Rod: Pierre, selling, GPS, Rowboat, and Roslit.
Fisch drops you on Moosewood with a Flimsy Rod and almost no C$. The first hour is not a tour of every island. It is a short chain: talk to Pierre, catch anything you can sell, buy a boat, sail to Roslit Bay, and walk out with the Magma Rod. This page stops at that rod. The rest of the stick ladder lives on Rod Progression.
The game is free on Roblox and online multiplayer. Other people will be selling, sailing, and shaking next to you. Ignore them until you can land a fish without watching the progress bar dump.
First minutes on Moosewood
- Find Pierre on Moosewood Beach and finish the tutorial. He is the onboarding NPC, not a merchant.
- Equip the Flimsy Rod with hotkey 1. Open equipment with 2 if you ever unequip it. Controls lists the rest of the PC binds: Mouse1 to cast, shake, and reel; Mouse2 to move or lock the camera; the backtick key for inventory; Shift for ShiftLock; E to interact; 3 for the Bestiary.
- Stand at the water, hold Mouse1 (or tap / RT) to charge the cast, and release. Distance is the only thing the charge bar changes. A PERFECT rating needs the white marker inside the small green overlay. Anything else still catches fish.
- After the bobber lands, tap SHAKE buttons if they appear. Each tap trims about half a second off lure time. They are optional. When a ! pops, the minigame starts: hold to drive the white bar right, release to let it fall left, and keep the fish inside until the progress meter fills.
- Walk to the Merchant in the Moosewood hut and sell. Do not sit on common fish. Inventory space and C$ both stall if you hoard Trout.
If the bar still feels unfair, pause this checklist and read Fishing. You do not need a better rod to learn hold-and-release.
GPS, Rowboat, and the first sail
Fish Flimsy catches at Moosewood until Level 5. That unlocks the boat you actually need.
- Buy the Rowboat for 400 C$ from the Shipwright at Moosewood Docks. This is the first real purchase. Skins, crates, and the Lucky Rod can wait.
- Optional but worth it: buy the GPS for 100 C$ off the chair in front of Moosewood Pond. Later quests quote coordinates. The GPS turns those numbers into a heading instead of a guess.
- Redeem codes before you leave if any are live. How to redeem codes is the menu path so you do not dump the cash into the wrong NPC.
Then sail to Roslit Bay. That is the second island on the first-hour route, not a side trip. Sunken Chests can appear on the way and sometimes drop an Auric Rod. Treat that as luck, not a plan.
Roslit Bay: Orc, Pufferfish, Magma Rod
On Roslit, talk to Orc at (-1850, 165, 160) and take the quest. You need a Pufferfish. Fish the coral reef abundance on Roslit, not random shoreline, until one shows up. Hand it to Orc. The reward is the Magma Rod.
The Magma Rod is the first stick that changes where you can fish. Take it to Carrot Garden and keep catching. That spot is the XP and C$ bridge out of the tutorial islands. Keep selling to the Merchant. Commons still go in the sell list.
Do not dump Enchant Relics on Flimsy, Plastic, or Magma. Bank them until the Midas Rod at 55,000 C$ from the Travelling Merchant, then enchant at Keepers Altar. Getting Started is the wrong page for relic gambling.
What to skip in hour one
- Plastic Rod and Lucky Rod on the Moosewood rack. Save toward the Carbon Rod at 2,000 C$ if you want a paid stick before Magma, or just stay on Flimsy until Orc is done. Details sit on Rod Progression.
- Totems, skin crates, and the Daily Shop. Aurora Totems are a money tool later, not a first-hour buy. See Making Money.
- Enchanting at Keepers Altar. Cole’s elevator fee is real C$. Spend that on the Rowboat and GPS instead.
- Every later rod after Magma. Wisdom, Fallen, Rod Of The Depths, and the oath line are mid-game and late-game jobs.
If you want a ranked look at sticks and bait after Magma, use the rods tier list and bait tier list as a shopping filter, not as a reason to skip Orc.
After Magma Rod
Your next problems are C$ and the minigame, not a new island name. Sell every trip. Use Carrot Garden until the Magma Rod feels automatic. Then follow the money page toward Forsaken Shores Pond and the 55k Midas buy, and follow rod progression for the named upgrades after that.
The Guides Hub keeps those pages in one list. The wiki holds coordinates and bestiary tables this walkthrough does not copy. Come back to Getting Started only if you made a new account or you skipped Pierre and still cannot sell.
Hour one is over when Magma Rod is equipped, the Rowboat is yours, and you can find Roslit without swimming. Everything after that is a farm, not a tutorial.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, rods, and Saturday patches.
Where do I sell fish in Fisch?
The Merchant inside the Moosewood hut. Sell commons every trip. Sitting on inventory is how first-hour C$ dies.
Do I need the GPS before Roslit Bay?
No, but the 100 C$ GPS on the chair by Moosewood Pond is the cheapest quality-of-life buy after the Rowboat. Orc sits at (-1850, 165, 160).
How do I get the Magma Rod?
Sail to Roslit Bay, talk to Orc, catch a Pufferfish at the coral reef abundance, and turn it in. Then fish Carrot Garden with Magma equipped.
Should I buy Plastic Rod or Lucky Rod first?
Skip both. Stay on Flimsy until Magma, or save 2,000 C$ for Carbon if you want a paid Moosewood rod. See Rod Progression.
When should I enchant my first rod?
Not in hour one. Save Enchant Relics for Midas (Mystical or Divine) at Keepers Altar. Magma does not deserve your first relic.
Where are the PC controls?
Mouse1 casts, shakes, and reels. Full binds are on controls, including inventory, ShiftLock, and hotkeys 1 / 2 / 3.
